Who We Are
Weekly Itinerary
Our squadron meetings follow a general weekly schedule based on the missions of the Civil Air Patrol. Meetings typically start with cadet drill practice, followed by the main meeting topic, and end with announcements and cleanup. During the school year, meetings run from 6:45 to 8:30 pm.
Every meeting features a variety of activities for our cadets and senior members. The Cadet Program comprises four main curriculum areas: Leadership, Aerospace, Character, & Fitness. There are also routine events such as opening and closing formations, promotion task evaluations such as drill tests and performance feedbacks.
Week 1 - Cadets perform drill and ceremonies & aerospace education. We also hold our monthly safety briefing. The uniform of the day (UOD) is the Airman Battle Uniform (ABUs, other options are also available for senior members).
Week 2 - Cadets conduct physical training (PT) which may consist of fitness testing, sports, or similar exercise activities. UOD is fitness attire (based on weather members may also wear extra items such as sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc)
Week 3 - Cadets perform drill and ceremonies & emergency service education. The UOD is ABUs.
Week 4 - Cadets participate in a Character Development forum and the squadron holds its monthly awards and promotions ceremony. UOD is the Air Force-style short sleeve blue service uniform (other options are also available for senior members).
Week 5 - Months that have a 5th Tuesday are typically built around a fun activity such as a unit holiday party or a specially-focused training event.
You can find complete uniform descriptions and guidance in CAPR 39-1.
The squadron has a large stock of uniforms but may not have your size. Cadets who complete their first promotion earn a voucher to the Civil Air Patrol store that may be used to purchase additional items.
Members may wear a conservative civilian outer garment in inclement weather if they do not have a matching uniform coat.
